This Sunday is the “First Sunday of Kingdomtide.” It is the newest of the liturgical seasons & the assigned color, green, indicates a time of growth for us and the church spiritually and emotionally. During Kingdomtide, the assigned scriptures tend to help us declare the values and the glory of the Kingdom of God while focusing often on social justice. These actions fill the hearts of people committed to make come true what Jesus taught us to pray, saying, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, ON EARTH, as it is in Heaven.”

          On the first Sunday of Kingdomtide, the assigned text from Ephesians 6 called “the armor of God,” offers us some assistance to “Dress for Success.” This assistance has nothing to do with the latest temporary fashion tips, but rather helping us dress spiritually and emotionally to succeed in overcoming the challenge we will be facing in seeking to make God’s Kingdom come, ON EARTH.”
