If it’s good enough for Jesus, it’s good enough for me!

Greetings! Last Sunday was Epiphany. This Sunday we read about Jesus, all grown up, being baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River! The biography of Jesus moves fast!

You’ve probably heard that story about the baptism of Jesus many times, but is it just about the past? Is it just about Jesus? Or have you stopped to think about what God’s words on that day mean for you and me today? The Gospel reading this Sunday from the lectionary has eight verses, but the sermon will only focus on 12 words. Which 12 words? Will it be a really short sermon? Tune in to find out! The Good News this Sunday will be easy to understand, and easy to share with others, even if you don’t take any notes.

Join us this Sunday for worship at Covenant as we consider what the Baptism of Jesus has to do with living out our Mission. The sermon is “If it’s good enough for Jesus, it’s good enough for me,” based on Mark 1:4-11. (And no, it’s not Hebrews 13:8, so it’s not about my age.)

SPECIAL NOTE: As is our Covenant tradition, there will be an opportunity to participate in a virtual reaffirmation of Baptism. If you wish to participate, please have water in a small bowl available during worship
